No, no, no. That's the last thing goldbugs will do. What we are dealing with is selective morality ! A rise in the oil price causes inflation and that is good for the gold price. This makes goldbugs happy.

Their failure to react strongly to collusion and conspiracy anywhere shows they have an agenda --- which is clearly to cause an increase in the gold price --- and not to hound out crooks. Unfortunately, it reveals the weakness of their own position and the fact that they do not sit on their proclaimed moral high ground.

Imagine, as an unintended consequence of the goldbug Crusade, if OPEC backed off and the oil price fell! And with it, the gold price! How's that for shooting oneself in the balls --- let alone the foot!
