I know this is a bit off topic, but I just got back from the doctor's office. He gave me two prescriptions. After getting them filled I noticed both of them weren't in generic form and both were marketed by Pfizer.

Could it possibly be that Pfizer is persuading doctors to push their medications? I remember listening to Dr. Dean Edell and he was saying that many doctors receive enticements to push medications they sell. For example, a doctor may get a set of golf clubs if they write at least 50 prescriptions for their new medication.

I'm not saying this is the case, but I did find it odd. I asked the pharmacist about other medications that are similar to the ones I received and she mentioned other brands by other companies that were similar. It just makes you wonder.

It was odd that the doctor asked me if my insurance paid for medication though.
