Franco,

I understand that the current analog system used for TV transmissions
and the new HDTV system will operate concurrently for a period of
about 15 years. This will give TV stations time to purchase digital
transmitters,which are very expensive, and also give consumers, who
have recently purchased or plan to purchase non-HDTV televisions, time
for their tv sets to wear out.
There is a thread (Acrodyne) under communications,particularly the
posts written by Karl Drobnick, that discusses this in more detail.
I also think acrodyne will be a very good long-term investment since
they make the transmitters ZE and others need.
