RM, further to your information re XLSW's programmable switch, it should be pointed out that among the advantages of its programmability is its inherent ability to provide advanced information networking (or AIN) services in a local host data bases that would ordinarily cost a bundle to "dip" into when using the incumbent carriers' and the SS7 network providers' shared data bases. Like the Summa Four system that was purchased by CSCO recently, it also has provisions for SS7 A-links which make it a suitable "transition" platform for getting from the old [POTS] to the new [Packet]. The AIN features have to do with 800 translation services, forwarding, follow-me, etc. FWIW, Frank_C.
