I was currious about the small stock decline so I make a composite index of 24 companiies with market cap of around 350 Million. They all had positive earnings in the past 12 months reported. It did not include Ampex. The average prices of all of these companies hit a high on Dec 31. They hit a low last Thursday or Friday. Not as sharp as Ampex's decline but it includes companies which did OK during that period. I think this validates the observation that Ampex's decline is money leaving small caps and not just the market perception of Ampex itself.
