AAPL to Ship India Language Kit.

macweek.com

This is another example of AAPL is leveraging the WorldScript capabilities of its OS. It strikes me as important for a few reasons:

1) India has one billion people and a growing middle class. One regional government indicated it would spend $1 billion over 2 years for Hindi capable systems. No MS product currently is.

2) India has the world's most prolific film industry. The Mac's media-authoring capabilities further enhance its appeal.

3) India has a very strong software developer infrastructure that US publishers are already exploiting. To the extent this wins local market share, it will convert the hearts and minds of that community to write for Rhapsody.
