BT's EURO BROADBAND NETWORK GOES LIVE

Or use your browser BACK button to return to the previous page. BT and its European partners have started running live customer traffic over their 45,000km pan-European fibre optic network announced in early February.

The network links the national networks of seven European operators - in the UK (BT), France (Cegetel/Telecom Developpement), Germany (VIAG Interkom), Italy (Albacom), Netherlands (Telfort), Switzerland (sunrise) and Belgium (BT Belgium).

Phase two of the network roll-out will cover Ireland, Spain and Scandinavia while phase three will extend to Southern and Eastern Europe. The network is linked to BT's Concert global network and is capable of carrying end-to-end broadband services.
