The comment (not necessarily yours): "PS - In my humble opinion, tuning the SQL statements in an application is the responsibility of the application developer not the DBA. The DBA should insist that no application go into production until the SQL has been properly tuned." I agree 100% if applicable.... I spend most of my time installing PeopleSoft, Baan and Oracle Apps; with these installations the code as delivered needs to be tuned (i.e.: no developers to tap into, that is unless you want to wait for the next release which might fix the problem). PPS - the certification tests are a play on words. Instead of a single correct answer the person taking the test must eliminate all possibilities to derive the correct answer. Took the tests at Open World for $30 each - no big expense on my part. J
