IMHO, the answer is quite simple...

All the poobah going on today with online trading, the SEC and the whiners is really quite simple...one word: Internet. The power brokers and big money in this country are extremely upset that the 'little people' actually have a fighting chance against them. Before the Internet, they had the upper hand; they controlled everything; they had the inside scoops on everything. I can only shake my head when the SEC goes after guys like Tokyo Joe. I would laugh, but it's not very funny. MoneyMade is absolutely correct. He is not paranoid, he is a realist. We are losing our individual freedoms in this country every day, by people and government organizations who are scared to death of a 'free-thinking society'. And yes, we had ALL better wake up soon. Remember, from the Governments POV, it's hard to control a free-thinking society; they ask too many questions, which means 'they' have to actually come up with answers.

How do you think the power brokers and big money people in this country got to be like that? They are the true corrupt people in this society, always have been, always will be. You think they didn't use their influence and power to acquire inside tips, or manipulate stocks? I would like to see the 'confidential' inter-office memos of the SEC. Let's find out exactly who's been putting pressure on the SEC to go after people like Tokyo Joe. Let's see exactly who's been complaining the loudest. IMO, it's those very same power brokers, scared to death of what the Internet represents: a fighting chance for the average 'Joe'.

I don't agree with their violent tactics, but I understand why there are so many militia groups all around this country. I understand why they're scared, and they have a reason to be. Many of these people are ex-military (like myself). They know what our government will stoop to in order to justify their actions. Our military leaders are as corrupt as any 'group' in this country. In Vietnam, military commanders and the US Government said we had no Vietnamese POW camps. Wrong! I worked within 1 mile of one. Every so often you could hear the Vietnamese POW's screaming bloody murder. This is just one example of my point.

Personally I get so tired of all this. Just when the people have a chance for an equal footing (in anything, not just the Internet), along comes our government. They'll come after us, but they don't have the guts, or the power to go after the real culprits. I have a word for that: Cowards. Period.

The moral to all this is: Screw the SEC! Screw the power brokers! Screw the forces inside our own government who don't like what the Internet represents! Surf the boards all you want. Pick up all the tips you can. Due your own DD and go for it!

Now let's get out there and make some serious bucks! (well, if that's okay with the SEC, of course). Sorry for the rant, but I'm just getting so fed up with this shit! :>)

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong you know. :)

"From chaos and confusion, comes the inability to see the TREES through the FOREST". <--- My quote. Know what I mean? :>)
