I'm playing this arb on the expectation merger will go through no problem. The price differential increased last week after ATHM was added to Nasdaq 100 index March 10 - no doubt this caused some additional demand for ATHM. This effect should wear off a bit next week and we'll be back to about a 8-10% discount, still large. One reason cited for the lack of arbing is the shortage of ATHM to short. Can you borrow any shares?
