I'm back from my vacation. Lots of TNT2 news. I'm not so blinded by 3dfx that I'll ignore them, but I think that NVIDIA will not win anywhere near the same number of OEM's this time around. 3dfx, S3, and ATi will all win some. I think that 3dfx will grow some in OEM sales and do ok in retail on the strength of their brand name. The stock still looks ok to me as the underlying business appears to be ok.

NVIDIA has a poor reputation (deserved) for hyping and then underdelivering. However, they're public now and Diamond is public as well so I'm expecting that they will be much more accurate. I wouldn't be surprised to see a late-April/early May general release of the TNT2 cards with some available to OEM's earlier.

I've seen quite a few posts about how 3dfx and NVIDIA use the same fab so yields should be the same. The chip design also is a major factor in yields, so there may still be differences.
