Wayne- A good question. I'm not sure I understand it either. The sense that I get from posts here on SI and Stockwatch, is that Cana is "manipulating" the share price by judicious buying and selling, to the detriment of the average investor. For example, when the share price jumps to say, $2, Cana is supposedly dumping shares on the market, selling at a profit, and lowering the stock price to, say, $1.50. Then, they supposedly buy in again, run the share price back up, sell, and on and on. I have been lurking on the IWM threads for a year or so, and I've been wondering what's going on, too. My take on it is this: (a)- IWM trades on the VSE - reason enough for some investors to stay away. (b)- With trading being thin, there is a great opportunity for a large holder to significantly alter share price, and make tens of thousands each time they go through a buy/sell cycle. (c)- The prospects for IWM look extremely bright, (d)- It will take a year or more for IWM to make a major upturn, with corresponding increases in volume. Then, individual investors will "burn through" the manipulators' float, and they will no longer be able to control the price.
I buy on the dips, and hold. I see this time as another buying opportunity, but I'm not looking for any significant action for a year or more. You might go thru the early BII posts, and review the trading history, to view the thoughts on the influence of Yorkton on BII's price: many thought it was the same story. Just my thoughts, FWIW.
