Steve-nice post.I am very enthusiastic regarding the advertising.The other point is that the print ad is very appealing,the copy couldn't be better and the photo is wonderful. It is about 100 miles from the basic product photo ad we have grown use to over the past years.I did not know they were doing labels.If they are appealing (and the 8 oz. labels on the ad look appealing-I assume the new ones would be similar)this would set sales on fire.I really think that and I was in consumer product advertising for 18 years.We ain't sellin' kids cereal or laundry detergent,but label appeal means an awful lot in this business. Right now the product sells with very little help from the appeal of the labels.
I am not faulting Mike however-in all honesty if I(we?) were he, I too would have concentrated on the product and distribution first.He deserves a lot of credit as he sees what marketing can do. Lots of entrepeneurs think their product can sell itself with no marketing.
