How NASDAQ Trains Market Makers

Somehow, I think you folks on this thread would want to know about this little secret: NASDAQ has this really hush hush academy in NYC to train future market makers. You may want to keep their tactics in mind the next time you place a trade.

Here's an example of one the exercises: Each student is given two black walnuts and a 10-foot length of piano wire. The students drill holes through the black walnuts and attach them to the ends of the wire. Then they go to Central Park and toss the wired walnuts out onto the grass under trees where squirrels hang out. Pretty soon the squirrels descend from the trees to get the walnuts. Each squirrel grabs a walnut and runs off to bury it. Then it finds the walnut at the other end of the wire and dashes off to bury it, yanking the first nut out of the ground. Back and forth, back and forth, the squirrel goes completely nuts.

The students keep count of how many times they can get the a squirrel to re-bury the same walnuts. The winning student gets a free dinner for two at a fancy restaraunt. Pretty clever, heh?
