If we can reach no unity of spirit, then IMO it is to our shame not from God. The scriptures clearly say that we are ONE in Christ, and when we choose to go outside that then we are the problem not God. Not to say we are not different peoples , as we certainly are, but in Christ we are to be one.
It is my belief that the true Church is very much on earth and Christ is the Head. The following are scriptures that I base my belief on.
Matt. 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
(Col 1:18 KJV) And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
(Eph 1:22 KJV) And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
(1 Pet 5:13 KJV) The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
(Heb 12:23 KJV) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
(James 5:14 KJV) Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
The saints called by God and saved by the blood of the Lamb are the church of Christ. I could say no less with the evidence I have seen.
