Uh Oh, another alternative to Jini.

Dale- Since this is my first reply to you since your 'running screaming from the oncoming train' episode, I feel I need to preface this with a statement, and I'm only doing this because you showed up in my inbox, and I do so with apology to this thread.

You are an absolute idiot.

When I hear the word "idiot", I think of Dale J. from SI on the web. In all my years, I've never read ANYONE who captures the essence of "idiot" more than you.

Now, with regard to Inferno; it's been around a long long time. Lucent was threatening Inferno as a Java alternative three years ago. That's the last anyone heard of it. It went down in flames. All this means is that HP and Nortel are now in the uncomfortable position of having to possibly break with the Crapware 'Jini like' vapor effort. If it's bad news, it's bad news to MSFT (unless they buy Lucent).

The phone company; the *phone runs on Unix (and increasingly, Solaris). If the phone company ran on NT, the post office would be as profitable as GE. Pushing Inferno as a cross-platform telephony solution demonstrates why AT&T spun off these clowns <g>.

Repeat these three words to yourself- "Sony and Philips" - "Sony and Philips". Are any bells going off yet? Are you still only hearing the train thundering over you and your short position?
