1) I have yet to hear an xyz@Home subscriber complaining about their local cable company to force them to buy a cable modem for $300 or lease on for $25-30 a month. The fact is, the cable company includes the cable modem in its $39.95 monthly charge. The one time installation charge is $100.

2) L.A. Times comment. We have analyzed this to death in ATHM thread and Motley Fool thread. LA Times was simply an exaggerated commentary about ATHM's problem. So far there has never been a wide-scale break down of its network. And so far no wide scale @Home user backlash.
Problems do exist in a spotty part of the region they are servicing. These problems were only temporary and were quickly fixed. Most @Home user, including me, are happy customers.

The other things are not worth commenting on...

I never thought a CPA would have any knowledge or vision to comment on DSL vs Cable.
