Dell to offer Dragon speech software
NEWTON, Mass., March 15 (Reuters) - Dragon Systems Inc. on Monday said personal computer maker Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq:DELL - news) will offer its Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred speech recognition software through its business units and online superstore.
Dell will provide the software as a core product offering in its home sales, business systems and preferred accounts divisions.
At customers' requests, Dell will pre-install Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred at the factory, ensuring that systems are pre-configured, tested, and ready for use.
Dell will promote the software through advertising in multiple catalogs, on its Web page, and with direct offers to its customers. Dragon Systems will provide training for the program.
Dragon Systems, Inc. provides PC speech recognition in multiple languages including American English, British English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish. NaturallySpeaking is a large vocabulary continuous speech recognition system that can create general purpose text.
