Seems to me that story regarding exploding a nuke near Fort Knox is similar to the one in the James Bond movie, "Goldfinger"??, which was very popular in the 60s. The plan was to explode a nuclear device inside Fort Knox to cause the gold in Fort Knox to become radioactive for several hundred years thereby triggering an unneutralizable advantage to the perps who have hoarded supplies of non-radioactive gold.
