II John

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

We should have a genuine desire with the right attitude of heart to share the gospel as we have been instructed to do, but many times the temptation can enter in to debate with an opposing view concerning the doctrine of Christ.

It is at such times that we must be more ready to obey God's instructions than our own inclinations or a desire to be right. These verses with explicit instructions are there for a reason.

God's word tells us that whatever isn't of Him is of that evil one.
Someone coming to your home bringing another gospel other than Jesus Christ and salvation by grace through Him may have an unseen guest with him.

Would you lay out the welcome mat for the enemy?

Thanks for the thought for today Gregor.
