Good evening Miss Jackson, How's the taxation out there in CA? (This could be a new thread topic... Where I live, the Taxes SUCK more than where You live...) Anyway, I was wondering what the max levels are for State & Local income taxes, S&L consumption taxes and S&L property taxes. And does California have the same Ad Valorem tax on personal property that GA does? How about Automobile / RV / Boat taxes..... I'll go first... Approximate Annual taxes in GA The GA income tax takes 6% off the top. S&L consumption taxes are another 6% to 7%. Residential property taxes are almost 2% of the Value of the property. Auto taxes decline from about 3% of the Value of the vehicle new, down to about $12. RV & Boat taxes are about 1.5% of the Value of the property. Add this to about 15.5% FICA, 36% Fed Income Taxes, and you are at about 65% of your income plus and additional 2% of your wealth are taken each year. MY business property is taxed at 2% of value on ALL ASSETS by the county I'm in. This Ad Valorem tax is in addition to the property taxes on the Buildings and land. Then you've got association dues of about 1% for the Business Park (Windward in this case) It is worse in some counties, better in others. How much worse is California? At least TX and FL don't have the state income bite! How many Cruise Missiles have YOU bought? Jack
