Hi GC,
The built in SCSI is not bad considering it does free up the extra slot. On one system, I have a PCI sound card, 2 PCI network cards, an Adaptec 2940U2W, and a modem. The 2 ISA slots are not used <g>
A co-worker is picking up the AX6B+ as well, and is going to put his Adaptec in another system. I say go with the board unless the drives have specific requirements (SCSI-3, UW, etc.)
SCSI drives are still number one, even with all the advances that IDE has made over the years. What's the specs on your drive?
FYI, I only used the AOpen motherboard. I never purchase brand name systems, only parts. I prefer the customization.
And once again, I urge you to look over the prices again. A 128Mg PC100 piece of RAM should be less than $275 CAD.
Take care,
Richard |
