Maybe rich women are skinny because the rich men dump the fat ones? Women's standard of living tends to be that of the husband, a divorced wife's standard of living takes a nose dive. If the rich man dumped the fat wife for a thinner one, bingo, she's automatically poor.

Actually, I think I started it with the observation that in Louisiana and in Puerto Rico, some body fat is more acceptable on women than, say, Fairfax. But I don't think anyone finds sloppy, heavy people acceptable.
