Yes., you're partly correct. The following may answer some of your questions:

1. I use only a small part of my money to play rolling stocks. For some months, I may not even have a rolling stock.

2. I monitor several stocks for long and short term positions. Once in a while I will be able to find a stocks which is trading between a channel.

3. I do some fundamental research to make sure that the stock may not suddenly fall thru due to some short comings in the fundamentals.

4. I will take a position in the stock, as soon as it turning upward (after hitting the lower trading level).

5. I will exit, when the stock turns downward after hitting the upper trading level. This way I may not buy at the bottom or sell at the top, but get most of the upward appreciation in the stock price.

Please note that it is easier said than done. I also use a very tight mental stop loss points during my trading. If my assumptions proves to be wrong, I will take my loss and move on. You need to have lot of patience and discipline to stick with your plan. It is very easy to get caught in a losing game and tieing up your capital to a stock which is going no where (or even worse down).

If you are new to investing, I suggest you to read some good books and do some paper trades before putting your money at risk.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you,

SMI

P.S.: I do not consider playing rolling stock as investing. I consider this as a speculative short term trading. Don't put any money here that you cannot afford to lose.
