The TNT chip was supposed to be $55 in quantity when it first came out. STB had press releases right up until it hit the streets that it was going to be a $299 card...didn't turn out that way...

Would imagine that the higher end chips with higher clock would be at $55 due to yield problems...lower clock chips will surely be much less. With the heat problems they had with the original TNT, I can't imagine that they could scale as well as the TDFX chips (at least not just with a die shrink)
