This is a good move by the biometric industry, and I'll be interested in just what principles and/or legislation they are endorsing. It shows that they understand the need to separate themselves from the Intels of the world.

I think that the people in the authetication business can afford to be privacy-friendly, and have a strong need to take that side, since they are dealing in templates of fingerprints and other human characteristics.

By the way, if you look at the IBIA link, Identicator is a founding member. IDX doesn't seem to be there, although I have heard that Fowler is active in this effort.
