You're missing something big about the accounting in this industry. There are two components of inventory - inventory on the manufacturer's books and inventory in the dealer's yard. The sum of the two is what's relevant if you're interested in how many tractors have been manufactured but not sold. You will find the dealer inventory in receivables on NH's or DE's books, since they finance that inventory. But you really can't get an accurate number without talking to the company. Trust me, you're low. They're all in the 4-6 month range now, with Case and NH on the high end. Though like I said before, those numbers are much better than past downturns.
