I've been trying to say the whole game with EFAX is about EYEBALLS. MSFT paid $400M for Hotmail because it had 6 - 8M subscribers, and was growing explosively. The speculation is that EFAX is the next Hotmail. As I posted earlier, I don't see how EFAX (which just hit 100,000 subs) is going to grow like that because they need one unique 10-digit phone number for each subscriber.

Their technology is derivative of their past business, making printer drivers for multi-function printer/fax/copiers (for the small office/home office market). Niche play.

Nice convenience for travelling business folks and home/office types who don't have or want a dedicated fax line and/or fax / multifunction printer. But not a revolution, by any stretch of the imagination.
