To all: Amazon.com wants another $165B

---------------------------------------------------------------
(Bloomberg) Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN): The No. 1 online seller of books,
music and videos plans to increase its authorized common shares to 1.5 billion from 300 million to finance acquisitions and corporate operations, and to fend off hostile takeovers, according to federal filings. Amazon rose 5 5/8 to 138 15/16.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's see: 1.2 billion of new shares times $138 15/16 equals ~165 BILLION dollars, give or take a few billions, in new financing. Not bad for a mailorder company with an on-line catalog.

Folks, we are way beyond tulips here.
