If BID.COM's revenue was $20.1 million in 1998, look out for a huge upswing in 1999 I'd say.!! The advertising we are seeing concerning Internet e-commerce in 1999 is 10 times more than we saw in 1998. Every month there's something new, now when you're buying something click the mouse and you can discuss the item with the operator. Now in 1999 we have Internet/TV, auction on TV, Huge SHOP NAKED Billboards, all this stuff will boost internet sales.!! We have TV shows like CNBC -TV that spend 50% of their time, all day long, talking about Internet stocks. Like they say, CNBC-TV is becoming like the ET (Entertainment Tonight) of the Business World. Every day there are 67,000 people joining the internet. I was at a party the other night and this lady was showing everyone how she picked up a piece of jewellery on the Internet, and when she compared it to 3 or 4 local stores that had the same brand name, it was half price. This is the type of word that's getting out on the Internet auction. How can bricks and mortar companies compete with the Internet E-commerce with all their heavy expenses. They just can't do it.!! This is why, I would imagine, some of those Internet companies have a market cap of 170 times their 1998 revenues. People, especially Americans, are putting great faith into this Internet revolution, and the future.!!! |
