The new 256-megabit SDRAM chips are expected to sell for about $105 per unit, which is much more expensive than the mainstream 64-megabit SDRAM's which are priced around $11 per unit, Samsung Electronics said.

So, who would want these other than very high end notebook PC makers?
4x$11 << $105

Does all new memory get priced this way?
Is there some other distinction that justifies the 2.5X price such as speed and Pdiss?
