I figured that out. Your language was a little ambiguous, but not really. Anyway, if he had been cleaning them up, it wouldn't have been a tragic loss. I think some people did the best they could based on what was available to them at the time. Consciousness of the potential impact came slowly. Some things are still controversial. The book and recent movie, "A Civil Action" claims that trichloroethylene (Sp? "TCE") causes cancer, but it probably doesn't. Silicone breast implants have been banned, and Dow-Corning has paid billions, but they are probably harmless. The people to hate are the ones who were callous and acted with reckless disregard of the rights of others.
