Apple's strategy very refreshing

You have to absolutely love the fact that Apple has revised the pricing of OS X Server from $999 to $499. Also, as I understand it, OS X Server does not charge on a per-client basis while Windows NT does (anyone confirm this?)

Sure, Apple makes less money on the software, but because of the proprietary nature of the underlying hardware, Apple knows that if someone buys OS X Server they are also buying a Blue G3 server box (at a hefty margin, thank you.)

Combine the ease of use of the Mac OS (which has been supposedly transferred pretty well to Server) with the easy to open-and-upgrade Blue G3 box design, and you have a very attractive package.

Now let's hope forthcoming reviews (especially from non-Mac publications) are positive. . .
