I guess I didn't make myself clear. I was talking about price/performance from a consumer's point-of-view, not price/performance from a enterprise server point-of-view. That's also what Scumbria was talking about.

It all depends on your frame of reference. Too many people try to compare Xeon to other consumer products out there like K6-2 and Celeron and point out that Xeon is tremendously overpriced. But Xeon isn't targeted towards this market; it's targeted toward high-end servers and workstations. Why don't these people try to see how well (or how poorly) a server with four modified Celerons performs under real-world server applications?

This is exactly the invalid comparison that I was pointing out to Scumbria.
