Steve--Do you think P. Allen's purchase of a controlling interest in Go2net will limit the upside--since it will no longer be seen as a takeover candidate? At first I thought Allen's purchase was great news: now I'm not so sure

Charlotte,

I was thinking the same thing at first as well. But since PA's tender offer for the 3.6 million shares @$90 expires on March 19th, and the stock is far in excess of that price now, we know he only owns 26%, and not 54%.

He's not under any obligation to purchase more shares it seems and I definitely believe they have some ideas in mind that may make to a news releasable level over the coming weeks.

And GNET has more cash than any other company its size in the internet sector and that makes it a formidable presence.

Yeah, the company may not be up for sale anymore, but I think we'll see some accretive acquisitions or projects aimed at ramping up the number of hits and thus, the advertising revenue.

Regards,

Ron
