Vidikron ....I spoke with the buyer of projection tv's in the
largest electronics store in our state. The floor space is twice
that of Best Buy and Circuit City. He stated he has heard of PJTV but Vidikron is the brand they will soon carry. I told him the PJTV
marketing rep. to contact for more info. I called him back for a
meeting and to show him new brochures on the DHT. We met last week
and imformed me he did call the marketing rep. for more info. He also
stated the Vidikron rep. just told him their new 2 chip DLP projector
will be delayed until Aug. His reason was the DLP was not responding
consistantly (ie. they had bugs to work out). He felt PJTV would
have a simular problem. I called PJTV and found out they were aware
of Vidikron's problem. But, it was their problem not PJTV. I was
told the problem was in the circit board. It was not meshing with
the DLP properly. PJTV has a different circuit board configuration
and is not affected. The new Vidikron DLP projector is a 2 chip
model projector only and with a few small differences is almost
identical to the PJTV's DHT projector. The electronics buyer stated
the $12,000.00 Vidikron price was accurate. He now told me he was
interested in the DHT and went as far as to show me where it would
be displayed. Vidikron he said has a good reputation. But, if
PJTV delivers on its advertising they will do very well. One further
comment the buyer stated, they have had many inquiries on projection
tv's for business use.
Lastly...Nokia's television unit was purchased by Semi Tech last
year. They now own the Nokia name brand on tv's. There have been
discussions between Semi Tech and PJTV.
