EFAX has gone nuts since I first saw it a few days ago. The truth is that converting a FAX document to PDF, ASCII or some other format is not such a big deal. Sure it takes a pretty good up-front commitment of money to build up the servers but the conversion process is straightforward and not unique. Give it a few years and this will be standard service across the Internet - every telecom and web portal company will have it. All this will eventually merge into "Universal Data Messaging" and eventually FAX service will become obsolete (a slow, slow death).
