Maxnet Integrates 18,000,000 Business Links and 90,000,000 Personal Listings From Telephonebook.net Into Webphonebook.com
FREEHOLD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 1999--Maxnet, Inc. (OTC BB:MXNT - news), announced today that it will be integrating 18,000,000 business links (Yellow Pages) and 90,000,000 personal listings (White Pages) of www.Telephonebook.net into Webphonebook.com and its community of sites.
Scheduled to begin on Monday, March 22, 1999, MXNT will begin the integration of Telephonebook.net's entire business link and personal listing base of over 100,000,000 listings into Webphonebook.com and its community of sites. The Telephonebook.net technology was written from the ground up with only one goal in mind: to search telephone and directory databases as quickly and accurately as possible. In less than one tenth of a second for a nationwide search it has the ability for graphics to be displayed in the search results without slowing down the search time. This may be one of the fastest (if not the fastest) search engines on the Internet today. Furthermore, due to the graphical nature of the Internet and advertisers' needs to display images in their ads, this technical capability may offer a significant advantage over the other more traditional Internet search engines. MXNT invites all Businesses and Users to register for a listing in their upcoming premier Internet Multimedia Rolodex, Webphonebook.com.
Webphonebook.com will provide customers with valuable information about commercial business to business services on the web without all the ''noise'' or redundant information generated by traditional search engines such as YAHOO!. Currently, search engine technology is sometimes a frustrating, inefficient, time consuming method of finding a local service provider for any goods or services. Webphonebook.com will provide a consumer with the name and information of someone that can help, located in the same area or the closest area. Instead of trying to be all things to all people, Webphonebook.com will be able to answer the question, ''How Do I Find Someone Local Who Can Help Me?'' As traffic grows on Webphonebook.com, MXNT believes that within 18 months Webphonebook.com will have a slice of the $3 Billion dollars spent by web advertisers by year 2000 (based on Forrester Research and Jupiter Communications). Furthermore, the top five sites for advertising revenue for 96/97 have been the traditional search engines (Jupiter Communications).
Webphonebook.com will be valuable for a variety of goods and services - what the yellow pages was in the early and mid 90's, Webphonebook.com will be for the 21st century, adding interactive audio/video information, services such as transportation directions, web pages for advertisers, links to related information, and e-mail. As commercial businesses seek to cut through the noise of the Internet, Webphonebook will offer a strong recognizable brand name, with a reputation for being a valuable information source for selecting a commercial service provider.
''With the integration of Telephonebook.net's listings, and the audio/video resources of www.MaxPlanet.com, we feel the Webphonebook will become one of the most unique and powerful resources on the Web. Webphonebook.com is slated to be one of the cornerstones of MXNT's growth strategy,'' states Michael Marsowicz, CTO for MXNT.
