Thanks Elayne, if they (OCCF) made the big gainers list in WSJ, that means added attention with mutual fund managers and individual investors. I sucessfully bought and sold several stocks last year that were highlighted as big gainers in WSJ. I bet other investors use the same strategy.

Redbird, I am weak on the working of options: calls, puts, etc. but your theory about short positions makes sense to me. I am buying a book to help me understand options better. McMillian's book "options as a strategic investment" was recommended. You read any good titles on the subject?

My experience with optical cable runs is that volume is the key. Unless some unforseen bad news hits, I would expect the price to continue to run up in the short term. I don't know about the rest of the country but in Texas, there is a big push for competing telephone companies to install systems where monopolies had once controlled the market. I suspect that may directly or indirectly have a positive impact for fiber manufacturers.
