Trev,
Two things trouble me. No new info came to light (as far a I know) between the time Aber's obligations were due and this intended legal action was announced.

If Aber thought WSP had the goods, why not pony up?
If Aber thought the Winter program was a bust, why the suit?

and two:

Is the announced breakup of WSP a response to the above legal action? Anticipating that Aber could tie up WSP for a long time, like the siege of a walled city. Could RT shift focus to NEWCO and begin to prove up those resources and thus defuse the siege?

CAB

Could be like 'Treasure of the Sierra Madre'.
