Let's look at it this way, IBM is losing market share to Dell, IBM knows there is no way to gain that market share back from Dell. Now IBM has a choice, they can continue to lose desktop market share to Dell until they have no share left, or in mutual agreement with Dell, IBM can sell Dell parts to make up for lost desktop revenue, in return Dell gets their desktop business. This propels Dell to #1 jmho- Walcalla
