Dell Inspiron 3000 vs 7000.

The URL DiViT mentioned, msnbc.com
says: 'MARGI SYSTEMS, a Dell strategic partner and supplier of DVD PCMCIA ... Inspiron 3000 and 3200.'

David,

Before you go accusing anyone, the article you quoted refers to the Inspiron 3000's removable PCMCIA card. I'm quite certain these use someone else's chip. [I forget who, do you remember?]

LuxSonor supplies the internal decoder the Inspiron 7000 laptops, which was not mentioned in that article. The Inspiron 7000's DVD playback has received some quite positive reviews in the press.

Usually you're more accurate than that.

Ron
