Maurice, you are truly a man (an assumption on my part, to be sure) of compassion and wisdom. I did, indeed, in good faith and with hard won currency, put my trust in Iridium...and the "projections" of its management. That you feel badly for me is a testament to your innate kindness (which - I think - living in NZ probably engenders in one; I can assure you a Maurice Winn living in Los Angeles would be hard-pressed to evince such humanity). Ah...but I still have my health, if merely in the physical sense, the spiritual side having been worked over by failed satellites and missed subscriber numbers. You have to give it to Staiano & Company, though - they put the Clinton spinmeisters to shame! Those I really feel badly for (after thoroughly bemoaning my own fate, and the sexy telephone that pushed me toward it), are those people I don't even know who may have been influenced by my enthusiasm. And the incredible thing is that I still get a charge out of powering up that phone and imagining I'm Thor Heyerdahl out in the great Pacific, but this time with the means to tell my story live!
Oh, you can RANT, Maurice...a finer talent for it is not to be found on this board. But I can sigh, Maurice, I can sigh... |
