To all
I am a R.N. who works in a cath lab. I heard about the stock and after some research decided to buy some shares.
Why? I talked to a few (EP doc and Pacer rep of another company)- most of the input was quite favorable. A lot of the talk seems to center around the patents that Angeion holds. The Angeion rep I talked to was also very convincing. Everyone seemed to think that Angeion could well be sold in the next two years because of the patents they hold.

Some points to consider: A product is as only as good as it's marketing. With AICD's in particular - you have to have the man power to be able to address the problem if the AICD fires.. If an AICD is firing in a patient for some unknown reason - An Angeion has to be to respond quickly. A CPI or Medtronic rep could probably be there in an hour. I'm not sure the Angeion staff can respond as quickly. This has to be a consideration for EP docs when they decide which companies device they will use. I have been told that more people have been hired to push their products.

Secondly - Angeion does not as yet have a programmer for their AICD system. A programmer interogates the AICD- makes changes - and also puts pt's into various rhythms (the big one being VFIB). One has to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the software will not crash when a potentially fatal rhythm is induced. Here again - I've been told a programmer is on it's way.

I can only tell you that we are now starting to use some Angion/Ella pacemakers and AICD's.

Once again - all the people I talked to think the company will eventually be sold to a big name company like Medtronics.

That's what I'm hoping for. I've made some bad picks in the past - so I went to what I know - Health care. I'm hoping this one will help me break even!
