AOL's unique e-commerce solution

AOL (AOL) President Robert Pittman said the online giant's $8.9
billion merger with Netscape will "provide a unique solution" for
the company's e-commerce capabilities. Pittman, kicking off the
PaineWebber Mass Market Internet Conference on Monday, spoke after
winning a big OK from regulators both on his company's Netscape
(NSCP) merger and its alliance with Sun Microsystems (SUNW). The
combined deals will allow AOL to offer its online e-commerce
partners three major weapons: traffic through AOL's 16 million
member base, software to browse the Web through Netscape, and
technical platforms through Sun. AOL is exploring alliances with
other telecom companies and providers of high-speed technology to
boost its potential for broadband services to its 16 million
members.

p.s. when is our long awaited party ?
