Subject: NTAP --> HYPER GROWTH

Thank you, PaineWebber!

A few points from today's BULLish report from the wise:

-We recently met with management and were impressed with the expanding number of growth opportunities, which raise our confidence in NTAP's ability to maintain its HYPER growth.

-Dell is on track to start selling NTAP Filers in May, which will add high volume distribution with very profitable "diskless" controller sales...we believe our forecast for $25M of incremental Dell sales in FY00 will be conservative.

-The emerging SAN market is being targeted by NTAP -- but using a NAS approach. Management is exploiting the immaturity of open fibre channel SANs and the proprietary nature of EMC's aging base technology (oh, oh) to establish NAS as a strong alternative. NTAP SAN sales are running at $15 M last quarter and have the potential for explosive growth.

-Along with rapid expansion (100%) in the sales force, we believe NTAP is well positioned to maintain its HYPER growth while sustaining one of the MOST attractive financial models in the server sector. We reiterate our STRONG BUY and price target of $62/share.
