More news for us ICDNers ...

March 17, 1999 - CIH-99-05 has been intercepting a very large width of quartz, 20 meters as of Tuesday and still boring. Based on this, Doug Boddy has requested approval for greater depth and Home Office has authorized this hole to continue until 450 meters (1500 feet).

Doug is getting a lot of feedback from a senior geologist visiting at the PDAC. We have been advised by a Ph.D. to drill Hole #7 as a plunge hole straight down the dome at an easterly angle, then to drill step-out holes, stepping south from there and continuing the easterly angle of drilling. He feels the structure will yield excellent results between the syncline and the anticline. The dome structure declines at a 37-degree angle away from the sea so step-out holes will hit the anticline at an angle they can penetrate. The step-outs will be deeper and deeper each time.

The Indocan crew at the PDAC had an enjoyable night Tuesday at the annual ball dubbed "Kirkland Lake Night" Doug was being approached at the Royal York (venue of the ball) by people he never knew and asked "you're that fellow drilling at Isaac's Harbour, aren't you?". Our audience seems to be growing.
