Sam,
Bollinger Bands are created so many Standard Deviations above and below a moving average. Thus the upper band is:

mov(Close,Periods,S) + std(Close,Periods,2)
and lower band is:
mov(Close,Periods,S) - std(Close,Periods,2)

Where Periods is often set to 21.

If you wanted the space between the two subtract the top from the bottom and you get 2*std

The reason to consider dividing by mov is to create an equalizer so that can compare expensive stocks to less expensive stocks. For your use, it may not be important. Using the difference may be sufficiant.

Do you use WOW Pro 32bit or another version. Interesting that the formula worked on your system, it crashes mine. I called tech support today. They said it does not crashes theirs so I am really confused. I thought they were working on the problem, but apparently they thought it was fixed.

Thanks,
Harold
