I may have jumped into this discussion a little late but I hold similar misgivings about American involvement in the Kosovo conflict. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it a Serbian national who, in essence, started World War One. I, for one, do not doubt the resolve of the Serbs for an instant. I view them as a strong, proud people and NATO has no business choosing sides in an internal conflict. War is a horrible fact of life and only the strong will survive.
While I certainly don't relish the idea of the loss of American lives, I suspect that the American people will speak out against this military involvement should US forces sustain heavy casualties. I can almost see the headlines now...."B-52 Bombers Shot Down Over Kosovo. All Onboard Feared Dead."
