FWIW, for those wondering why Necar 4 is rumored to use hydrogen as a fuel and not methanol, which Daimler is favoring. From what I have heard the simple answer is that the design for Necar 4 was locked in before the methanol reformer had advanced enough to be considered in this version. It is also apparently being done to show the flexibility of potential fuels in this type of car. Necar 5 is expected to be back to methanol though. Regards
